An old military battle tank is located off the N3 highway just past the Hammarsdale off-ramp, situated near the historic Hammersdale Firing Range.
The Tank's History and Current Status:
The Target Tank: For decades, a decommissioned military tank sat near the entrance of the military training grounds and shooting range. It was historically used as a landmark for locals and those passing the area.
Gone Missing: According to community history groups and veteran discussions, this specific tank (noted by some as an old Stuart tank) went "AWOL" and was removed from the entrance. Many enthusiasts expressed disappointment that it was not officially preserved in a local museum.
